Chicago Heights, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Prairie State College (PSC) recently named Timothy J. Kosiek director of facilities and operations for the college.

He is responsible for the leadership, administration, planning, and budget management for all PSC facilities, including the main campus, Adult Training and Outreach Center, Matteson Area Center, and Children’s Learning Center.

Kosiek was selected from nearly 50 qualified candidates who applied for the position. He joins PSC after working as a project specialist for Governors State University. He also has been assistant director for project coordination and then assistant director for facility services at Joliet Junior College, as well as a project engineer for various organizations, including Earthsafe Systems, M/R Field Service, Appleton Electric, and Maund, Richards & Associates.

Dr. Alan Robertson, vice president of finance and administration, says he recommended Kosiek for the position over the other candidates because he was “an experienced engineer and manager with more than 23 years of professional experience.”

“The past 13 years he has had increasing facility management responsibility for budget, construction, contract negotiations, custodial, design, grounds, operations, maintenance, environmental health and safety in higher education institutions,” he added.

Kosiek is a member of the Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers and the Society for College and University Planning, as well National Incident Management Certified.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering technology from Purdue University Calumet and a Master of Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management. He also received a Certificate in Association of Higher Education Facilities Officers from the APPA in 2001.
