Prairie State College Speech Team Has Individual Successes at Appel-Quest Tournament


CHICAGO HEIGHTS—(ENEWSPF)—October 25, 2013. Prairie State College (PSC) Speech Team participants brought home several individual awards during the Appel-Quest Speech Tournament hosted by Moraine Valley Community College on Oct. 12.

Jasmine Ross of Richton Park received fifth place for informative speaking. Daquawn Bruce of Riverdale received sixth place for persuasive speaking. Destin Patton-Warner of Riverdale received third place for speech to entertain and fifth place for prose interpretation. Sanni Mohammed-Haruna of Homewood received fourth place for speech to entertain.

Other team members competing included Mychael Vanarsdale of University Park, Lloyd Tar of Flossmoor, Milland Goldman of Hazel Crest, and Censarray Wilson of South Holland. The team was coached by PSC Professors David Naze, Elighie Wilson, and Ed Schwarz.

Team member Milland Goldman said, “my first tournament was subtle enough for me to laugh and have fun but also very professional.”
