Prairie State College Speech Team Takes Sixth in Harper College Tournament

Chicago Heights, IL-(ENEWSF)- The Prairie State College (PSC) speech team received sixth place overall and the fourth place quality award during a recent tournament hosted by Harper College. They competed against teams from 20 schools over four states.

Among the individual awards PSC students received were third place in prose interpretation and second place in persuasive speaking for Jasmine Ross of Richton Park, sixth place in informative speaking for Liz Rossi of Crete, fourth place in speech to entertain for Nick Williams of Homewood, and seventh place for dramatic interpretation for Sarah Hill of Harvey. The team was coached by PSC Professors David Naze, Ed Schwarz, and Elighie Wilson.

Though the number of PSC students competing was smaller than previous competitions, “big things happen in small numbers,” said team member Jasmine Hill.
