Prairie State College Student Government Leaders Participate in ICCTA Student Leadership Institute


CHICAGO HEIGHTS–(ENEWSPF)–July 7, 2015.  Several Prairie State College (PSC) student leaders participated in the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) Student Leadership Institute held last month during the Illinois Community College Trustees Association (ICCTA) Annual Convention at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel Conference Center in Schaumburg, Ill.

Among the PSC student participants were Student Government Association officers President Tevin Dear of Homewood, who is studying administration and psychology; Vice President Joshua Rawls of Glenwood, who is studying law and business; Secretary Cristian Barajas of South Chicago Heights, who is studying psychology; and Treasurer Alex Venegas, of South Chicago Heights, who is studying social science.

During the two-day event, ICCB student services staff led the participating student trustees and student government officers, representing the 48 Illinois community colleges, through discussion on topics including diversity and inclusion, campus safety and security and higher education funding.
