PSC Forensics Team Cleans Up At Phi Rho Pi Tournament


Team takes home 4 gold medals, finishes 3rd overall

Chicago Heights, IL-(ENEWSPF)Prairie State College’s Forensics Team scored big at the Phi Rho Pi Region 4 Speech Tournament on March 18 and 19 at Moraine Valley Community College, with three members taking home gold medals and the team finishing third overall.

Nadia Crawley, of Lynwood, received gold medals in Persuasive Speaking and Informative Speaking. Adrianna Carr, of Park Forest, earned a gold medal in Prose Interpretation. Kelli Campbell, of Homewood, took home the gold in Persuasive Speaking. Hannah Grasse, of Flossmoor, was awarded a silver medal in Prose Interpretation.

The team also received the silver medal for Individual Events and the bronze medal for overall score.

"We couldn’t be more pleased as a coaching staff," said Dave Naze, associate professor of communication and co-director of the Forensics program. "The students are extremely excited about the results and we’re hoping to take this momentum into nationals in just a few short weeks."

Elighie Wilson and Ed Schwarz, professors of communication, also coach the PSC Forensics Team.

The Forensics Team next will compete at the Phi Rho Pi National Speech Tournament beginning  Mon., April 11in Greenwich, Conn.
