Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Janiah Jones, a freshman at Rich East High School, placed sixth in the frosh/soph race at the Larry Roland Rocket Cross Country Invitational on Thursday. Her time was 22:40 on the 3.017-mile course. Deasia Garrett of Rich South was the fresh/soph winner with a time of 19:48. Senior team captain Jazzmen Allen, placed 45th in the varsity race with a 22:50.
Also on the frosh/soph level, Marian Catholic placed second as a team, with 61 team points, a few spots behing champion Lockport. Sophomore Shea Driscoll was second with a time of 22:03. Marian placed sixth as a team on the varsity level, with 150 points. Helena Mierzwa was the highest placing runner for Marian with a 22:03, good for 27th place.
