Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Rich East junior Elyse Terrazas will be attending the 2014 Business Professionals of America Nationals Competition in Indianapolis, Ind., April 30-May 4, after her second-place finish in legal office procedures at the recent state BPA competition in Oak Brook. It will be her first trip to the national convention.

Eight of her teammates also competed at the recent BPA state tournament in Oak Brook. They included: junior Sarah Abbott (advanced interview skills and fundamental accounting); sophomores Guadalupe Acosta and Wyatt Murray (human resources); juniors Karina Davila, Gabrielle Hernandez and senior Dazzo Wilnewic (payroll accounting); and juniors Rebeca Dorantes and Anna Kurnat (global marketing team). While they all had solid scores and points, they fell just short of advancing to nationals against some very solid competition from other schools across the state. Last year, Abbott was the state champion in Keyboarding Production and went to the BPA nationals in Orlando, Fla.

"It is extremely difficult to advance to nationals and we are very happy for and proud of Elyse on her second-place medal and finish. She worked very hard all year," said Rich East BPA sponsor and coach Matt Shank. "The entire team all did very well at state and they should be proud of their accomplishments."
