SCHEDULE CHANGE: South Suburban Small Business Association to Host ‘JumpstART Your Weekend’ With South Suburban Chorale at South Suburban College

SOUTH HOLLAND, IL—(ENEWSPF)—September 27, 2013. The South Suburban Small Business Association (SSSBA) has rescheduled the “JumpstART Your Weekend” event at South Suburban College (SSC), which will now be held on Thursday, October 24th from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  This event will showcase the South Suburban Chorale.

The “JumpstART Your Weekend” events offer business members of the SSSBA an informal introduction to some of the south suburbs’ most fascinating and thought-provoking arts organizations.  The events are hosted on the first Thursday of the month.

The 130-voice South Suburban Chorale has established itself as one of the premiere singing ensembles of the Chicago Southland. Under the direction of SSC’s own music faculty member, Albert M. Jackson, the Chorale has performed in concerts throughout the Chicago south suburbs and Northwest Indiana, presenting major works such as Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, Mozart’s Grand Mass in C minor, Mendelssohn’s Hymn of Praise, the Mozart Requiem and Bernstein’s Mass.  This season the Chorale is joined by the Chicago Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra to perform the magnificent Brahms Requiem.

The cost to attend this “JumpstART Your Weekend” event is just $5 and includes refreshments and entertainment.  RSVP to Mr. Jackson at (708) 596-2000 ext. 2349, [email protected].  South Suburban College is located at 15800 S. State St., South Holland, Illinois.

The SSSBA is a regional organization dedicated to the concerns and issues affecting small and minority businesses located in our service area, which includes seventy-nine communities within an area approximately bounded by Evergreen Park to the North, Gary Indiana to the East, Peotone to the South, and Joliet to the West.  The SSSBA has also teamed with a number of regional arts agencies and organizations to create a monthly calendar of arts activities occurring in south suburban Chicagoland.  The calendar is available for viewing and submitting events at http://www.sssba.org/event-calendar/
