Women in the Workforce Conference Scheduled at Prairie State College on October 25


Chicago Heights, IL—(ENEWSPF)—September 27, 2012.  Micah Materre, anchor of WGN News, will present the afternoon keynote address when Prairie State College (PSC), in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, hosts its 6th Annual Women in the Workforce Conference. The conference is being held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 25, on PSC’s main campus, located at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights.

Additional keynote presenter, Linda McGill Boasmond, owner and president of Cedar Concepts Corporation, will open the program. Panelists for the morning discussion include Monique Caradine, owner of Momentum Media Group; Dr. Dianne M. Daniels, assistant professor of business and administrative faculty in the Doctorate of Education in Ethical Leadership program at Olivet Nazarene University; and Debra Glanton, owner and president of Illinois Welding School. Renee Hill, insurance professional with Warren Insurance Agency, will moderate the panel.

The program opens at 9 a.m. with registration and networking opportunities, followed by a welcome address at 10 a.m., and a keynote address at 10:10 a.m. by Boasmond. Following an 11 a.m. break will be the panel discussion. Lunch will be served at noon. Participants may also visit the vendor booths at this time. The Women of Excellence Awards will be presented at 12:45 pm, followed by a 1 p.m. keynote address by Materre. The program closes at 2 p.m.

The program is $15 per participant, and includes a boxed lunch. The registration deadline is Friday, Oct. 19. Social workers and counselors can earn 3.0 CEU credits, and teachers can earn 3.0 CPDU credits. An additional $10 fee applies.
