Women’s Interview Closet Program at PSC Opens With Nov. 13 CAbi Fashions Fashion Show

Chicago Heights, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Finding a job is not easy for anyone. Making a good first impression at an interview can be the deciding factor on whether or not you get hired. Prairie State College (PSC) has established the Women’s Interview Closet to help make the task of dressing professionally for an interview more cost effective for the female students at PSC.

Gently used women’s professional clothing donations to the closet are being accepted from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, in the PSC Conference Center, located at 202 S. Halsted St. in Chicago Heights. Parking is available in Lots C and D.

Cindy Sellentin, a fashion consultant with CAbi Fashions, will present its fall collection, along with styling tips in the Conference Center. The CAbi fashions will be available for purchase, and a portion of the sales will be donated to assist the interview closet program.

CAbi Fashions features upscale career and casual apparel from an innovative design team. Because the CAbi corporate philosophy encourages giving to women in need, the company also will donate CAbi clothing to the cause.

The PSC Women’s Interview Closet will be located in the A.L.L.U.R.E. resale shop, located at 410 S. Ashland Ave.

A.L.L.U.R.E. stands for “Academy for Lifelong Learning Upcycle and Recycle Exchange.” The store is a part of the SPEED District 802 Academy for Lifelong Learning.

“The partnership with A.L.L.U.R.E. will allow SPEED students to gain job skills in retail and merchandising through working at the store, while PSC women students are assisted with apparel that can make the difference between a successful job interview or continuing unemployment,” said Cathy Kloss, director, development and special projects, who spearheaded the event.

PSC also will accept clothing donations on additional dates to be announced. On those future dates, clean men’s and children’s clothing, along with women’s apparel, will be accepted, along with business-appropriate shoes and accessories.

“Prairie State College is dedicated to helping all of our graduates succeed,” said PSC President Dr. Terri L. Winfree. “We are grateful to both CAbi Fashions and A.L.L.U.R.E for their assistance in these efforts. Our students will have the opportunity for a brighter future because of these organizations’ generosity.”
