Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– As has already been widely reported, State Representative Robin Kelly, D-Matteson, will step down from the state legislature to become chief of staff for incoming state Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias. Reached for a brief interview, eNews Park Forest asked Representative Kelly what tipped the scales for her in making her decision. "It was a very, very tough decision because I really love my district, but I feel it’s a good thing, and I feel the Treasurer and I will be partners in trying to make it the best office it can be."
“I went through a lot of anguish, but I talked to a lot of political consultants, and I kept talking to Alexi. And when he talked about economic development, financial literacy, home ownership, issues around predatory lending and foreclosures that are right up my alley from my work in the Village of Matteson and even as a State Rep., so I felt that our interests could be integrated and that we could do a good job together.”
