Theresa Settles, Maya Hardy, Erin Slone
Unofficially, these are the Trustees-elect: Theresa Settles, Maya Hardy, and Erin Slone. (Park Forest Non-Partisan Committee and VOPF)

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Unofficially, it appears that Theresa Settles, Maya Hardy, and, by 11 votes thus far, Erin Slone will be sworn in as Trustees in the Village of Park Forest.

At last count, Erin Slone had a 10-vote lead over JeRome Brown. At that point Cook County showed 1,447 votes cast in the Village. That count was updated tonight, April 17, at 11:14 PM and now shows 1,460 votes cast in Cook County.

Will County last updated its tally on Wednesday, April 14, at 12:01 PM.

As of this writing, current Trustees Theresa Settles and Maya Hardy maintain their leads comfortably with 861 and 825 votes respectively. Erin Slone maintains a slim lead over former Trustee JeRome Brown 674 votes to 663. Mr. Brown served one term and lost his re-election bid four years ago. Two years ago he placed third of three candidates in the contest for Mayor.

Judy Hawthorne broke the 600-vote threshold, her vote total increasing from 599 at last count to 606 currently. Joshua Justin Travis remains a distant last place with 538 votes.

While it appears safe to call the third seat for Ms. Slone, neither Cook nor Will County have certified the results. According to the Illinois State Board of Elections, April 27 is the last day for the county clerk or board of commissioners to canvass the election results. April 27 is also the last day the election authority “shall transmit to the State Board of Elections the following: (1) the number, by precinct, of vote by mail ballots requested, provided, and counted, (2) the number of rejected vote by mail ballots, (3) the number of voters seeking review of rejected vote by mail ballots, and (4) the number of vote by mail ballots counted following review.”

It ain’t over ’till it’s over.

This table will update as we post new results:
