Village Commemorates September 11, 2001

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– Members of the Park Forest Fire and Police Departments held a ceremony last Thursday to remember the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Deputy Fire Chief Bruce Ziegle welcomed those in attendance. A moment of silence was observed at 8:59 CDT.

Father O’Sullivan of St. Irenaeus Church led the opening prayer. Fire Captain Michael Wheeler read a prayer for firefighter who lost their lives that day, and Police Chief Thomas Fleming read a prayer remembering fallen police officers.

The closing prayer was by Father O’Sullivan.
