Village Prepares for Main Street Nights

Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— Main Street Nights return to Park Forest. Capture the flavor of Ravinia in your back yard without the travel and expense!  Grab a blanket, pack a snack and position yourself in the Park Forest Downtown Village Green (Cunningham and Main Streets) for six FREE nights of entertainment.

Rain or Shine!  Performances last approximately 45-60 minutes.  In case of rain, performances will be moved to Freedom Hall’s intimate 330 seat Nathan Manilow Theatre, 410 Lakewood Boulevard with the exception of June 27.  The performance on June 27 will be moved to Dining on the Green, 349 Main Street if it rains. WEDNESDAY, JUNE 27
7 p.m. – Classic & Antique Car Show
Start out this fabulous night by viewing classic and antique cars on Main and Cunningham Streets

7 p.m. – Brad Weston
A spectacular comedy juggling unicycle show!

7:45 p.m – BBI
If a high energy party is what you’re looking for, BBI is your band.  BBI can span the decades from the ‘60s to today’s top artists.  Their music repertoire consists of Motown, Rock and Roll, Blues, Classic Rock to current dance hits.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 4
Celebrate 4th of July at Central Park on Lakewood Boulevard.  Round up the whole family and enjoy inflatables, facepainting, food, free concert by one of Chicago’s premiere party bands, “The High Society Orchestra” and, of course, spectacular fireworks!
 
WEDNESDAY, JULY 11
7 p.m. – Little Nashville
Little Nashville engages a crowd with Today's Hot Country music for kids and adults. The driving rhythms and catchy melodies of Little Nashville's music – coupled with their emphasis on significant life lessons including racial diversity, sharing with others, learning the alphabet, and songs about acceptance – are truly responsible for the group's fast rise in popularity.

7:45 p.m. – Nancy Hays and the Sawyer Brothers Band
Get ready to line dance, swing, waltz and two step with Nancy Hays and her band.  Great traditional and modern country music, sung by the talented, Nancy Hays and backed by outstanding musicians will get your toes a tappin’!

WEDNESDAY, JULY 18
7 p.m. – Chicago BreakaBulls
The Chicago BreakaBulls is a group of breakdancers who light up the court with dynamic moves that are straight from the street. Combining old-school and new school moves—windmills, freeze-poses, helicopters, pop-lock and the occasional battle—these B-Boys deliver a healthy dose of hip-hop culture.

7:45 p.m. – Shirley King
Being the blues singing daughter of B.B. King has earned Shirley King the title “Daughter of the Blues,” but she is an outstanding singer and performer in her own right.  She is like Etta James, Koko Taylor and B.B. King all rolled into one!

WEDNESDAY, JULY 25
7 p.m. – Bubble Wonders
International Bubble Artist, Geoffrey "Merlin" Akins, creates moments of wonder and awe during his captivating and hilarious 'Bubbleology' performance. He can make huge, wobbly Electric Dancing Bubbles, bubbles inside bubbles, and smoke-filled Volcano Bubbles, just to name a few. Why he can even place a child inside a bubble!

7:45 p.m. – New Invaders Ultimate 60’s Flashback
The "Ultimate 60's Flashback" stage show includes not only the great hits of the 60's, but an added bonus as well the Shindig dancers, Mary & Debbie.  With special guest Melody Mallin covering tunes from the great female vocalists Dusty Springfield, Grace Slick, Leslie Gore, Cher and more, go back in time with the New Invaders!

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 1
7 p.m. – Dave Rudolf
Park Forest’s very own, Dave Rudolf will entertain the whole family his wacky songs, and madcap humor.  Dave’s zany, infectious energy and clean comic wit will involve everyone in a delightful experience of limericks, songs and all sorts of interactive FUN!

7:45 p.m. – Jeff Stitley Orchestra
Comprised of many of Chicago’s top musicians and vocalists, the Stitley Orchestra is known for its versatility and great sound.  The band’s diverse repertoire includes everything from swing, standards, big band, contemporary dance, rock, R&B, Disco and Motown. 

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 8
7 p.m. – Classic & Antique Car Show
Start out this fabulous night by viewing classic and antique cars on Main and Cunningham Streets.

7:15 p.m. – Blooze Brothers Show Band
Arriving in style in the Blooze Mobile, this high powered choreographed 12-piece show band covers Motown, R&B, Soul, current favorites and of course the music and crazy antics of the famous original Blues Brothers

Dusk – “Freaky Friday”
Disney’s remake of the extremely funny and heartwarming comedy will be the featured presentation on a 25 foot outdoor screen!
