Valparaiso Man Sentenced to 78 Months for Possession of Child Pornography


Hammond, IN-(ENEWSPF)- The Department of Justice announced Friday that Martin Knight, age 38, of Valparaiso, Indiana was sentenced to 78 months imprisonment and 5 years of supervised release for one count of possessing child pornography.

The United States Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana, Thomas L. Kirsch II, made the announcement. Knight was sentenced by District Court Judge Philip Simon.

According to documents in this case, between 2000 to 2012, Knight collected and possessed over 17,000 images and 300 videos depicting children engaging in sexually explicit conduct, the Justice Department said in a statement.

Knight entered a plea of guilty on August 1, 2017.

“This case is the result of the investigative efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Indiana State Police. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Abizer Zanzi,” the statement said.
