DOD Identifies Additional Army Casualties, April 5, 2011

Washington, D.C.-(ENEWSPF)–April 5, 2011.  The Department of Defense announced today the deaths of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.  They died April 4 of wounds suffered from small arms fire in Faryab province, Afghanistan.  The incident is under investigation.

Killed were:

Sgt. Scott H. Burgess, 32, of Franklin, Texas.

Sgt. Michael S. Lammerts, 26, of Tonawanda, N.Y.

They were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 84th Field Artillery Regiment, 170th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Baumholder, Germany.
