Victimized Vet Shares Story, Records; Secretary Can Allow Vets Access to Immediate Private Care
CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–June 13, 2014. Following the receipt of hundreds of testimonials from veterans at a town hall meeting, staff meetings, and correspondence, U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) today called on acting VA Secretary Sloan Gibson to declare a state of emergency that would allow veterans to seek immediate private care, rather than suffer extended wait times for care at a VA facility.
