New Report Shows Mayor-Led School Districts Improved School and Student Performance

Washington, D.C.–(ENEWSPF)–March 22, 2013.  Mayor-led school districts can dramatically increase student achievement, according to a new report released today by the Center for American Progress. This reform strategy is often called mayoral control, and it includes replacing an elected school board with a city’s mayor. In a few instances, however, the report found that some cities performed less well under mayoral control.
