AARP Opposes Social Security Benefit Cut as Part of Lame Duck Deficit Discussions

WASHINGTON, DC –(ENEWSPF)–November 9, 2012. Yesterday, AARP sent a letter to members of Congress and the President opposing the deficit proposal that would reduce Social Security benefits by adopting the Chained Consumer Price Index (CCPI).  In last year’s deficit discussion AARP took a similar position.  The letter follows a report AARP recently released called Proposed Changes to Social Security’s Cost-of-Living Adjustment.
