Council on American-Islamic Relations Condemns Attack on Jerusalem Synagogue

WASHINGTON, D.C.—(ENEWSPF)—November 18, 2014 – The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned an attack on a synagogue in Jerusalem that left four worshipers dead, including three Rabbis with American citizenship.

In a statement, CAIR said:

“We condemn this and any other attack on a house of worship and urge all parties in that holy city to refrain from actions that further inflame religious tensions.

“As the Quran, Islam’s revealed text, states: ‘Had not God repelled some people by the might of others, the monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques in which God’s praise is celebrated daily, would have been utterly demolished. God will certainly help those who help His cause.’” (The Holy Quran, 22:40)

In the past CAIR has condemned similar attacks on houses of worship, including anti-Christian and sectarian violence in Pakistan, Iraq, Malaysia, and other countries.

CAIR is America’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.
