Chicago, Illinois –(ENEWSPF)—September 26, 2017

Authored by: Indivisible Illinois

Each of us should be able to make decisions about pregnancy and parenting that are best for our families, without interference from politicians. HB 40 protects the right to abortion by ensuring that abortion remains legal in Illinois and makes that right a reality by lifting the bans that deny insurance coverage for abortion. Governor Rauner should stand strong and show respect for Illinois women by signing this bill into law today. It is not too late for Governor Rauner to remember his campaign promise, “As governor, I will work to ensure equal access to contraception and abortion services.” It’s not too late to examine his values, think of the women whose lives could be affected, and to sign HB 40 exactly as it was passed.
