Mitt Romney’s Vision for America – Profits First

Bain Capital Companies Repeatedly Sent American Jobs Overseas

WASHINGTON, DC–(ENEWSPF)–June 22, 2012.  Service Employees International Union (SEIU) International President Mary Kay Henry issued the following statement on today’s Washington Post story detailing Mitt Romney’s role in pioneering the practice of shipping jobs overseas:

“Mitt Romney’s history at Bain Capital shows he believes that the ends justify the means when it comes to maximizing profits for your rich friends and investors – no matter the consequences it has on communities and families. Today’s story in The Washington Post provides damning evidence that Romney oversaw a company that routinely sent American jobs overseas. He should be forced to defend these actions and SEIU members will be asking him to do just that.

“President Obama shares our vision of a nation where people come before profits, where all Americans have good jobs to support their families, we can all retire with dignity and where our children can do better than we did. It’s a vision that says: Our country is better when we all do better.

“During this fragile economic recovery America needs real leadership, not just a good song and dance. That is why earlier this week the hardworking men and women of SEIU took our 2012 political program to the next level by kicking off the union’s largest and most comprehensive field program to re-elect President Obama and win other key elections for the 99 percent.”
