Ohio —(ENEWSPF)–July 21, 2015. Today, Governor John Kasich is going to hold a press conference to announce his candidacy for President of the United States. Erika West, political director for NARAL Pro-Choice America, released the following statement:
“It’s tough to discern what the bigger joke is, imagining John Kasich in the White House, or the fact that his campaign thinks it can spin his record into making him a moderate. The simple truth is that when it comes to women’s health care, John Kasich is just like the rest of the ever-growing Republican field—extreme and out of touch.
“Like many of his colleagues, Governor Kasich has been acting like Doctor Kasich, deciding what health care choices women can make. But the truth is that Kasich is working to outlaw abortion and rob women of their reproductive freedom. From signing abortion bans to stripping funding for family planning, Kasich’s record demonstrates that he simply does not trust women to make their own personal reproductive health decisions.
“While Kasich may try to play himself up as a moderate, we’re going to make him own his record.”
