President Obama Exposes Romney on Jobs, Tax Plans

WASHINGTON, DC –(ENEWSPF)–October 17, 2012.  After  last night’s Presidential debate, Mary Kay Henry, President of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), issued the following statement:

“During tonight’s debate, President Obama explained exactly what is at stake in this election for the working families. They want to move forward, not backward, and they need President Obama in the White House.

“Mitt Romney continued with the same vague promises to cut taxes and create jobs without providing any details about how he’ll do it. That was probably because his plans are a sham. From his $5 trillion tax cut to his plan to create 12 million jobs in four years, his math does not add up. There is no way to do what Romney has proposed without adding to the deficit and raising taxes on the middle class.

“From day one, President Obama has championed equal pay for equal work because he believes what we believe – it is inexcusable that in 2012 that we are even debating whether women should take home equal pay as men. What message does it send to women voters when Mitt Romney refuses to say whether or not he supports the Fair Pay Act – and his running mate, Paul Ryan, actually voted against it?

“Regardless of how vague his plans are, we know that working families cannot afford four years of Romney Economics.”
