SEIU: Mitt Romney Continues His Two-Faced Approach to Voters

Washington, D.C.–(ENEWSPF)–April 16, 2012.  Service Employees International Union (SEIU) International President Mary Kay Henry issued the following statement regarding Mitt Romney’s overheard comments at a closed-door fundraiser:

“Once again, behind closed doors Mitt Romney shows who he is truly fighting for. When speaking to voters he refuses to give specifics but with campaign contributors we learn more of his real agenda – eliminate help for families trying to stay in their homes, gut investments in quality public schools for our children and then using those funds to pay for a tax plan that delivers huge tax giveaways for the 1 percent.

“We have learned the hard way what happens when you elect someone who campaigns on a hidden agenda until, like Wisconsin’s extremist Governor Scott Walker, they decide to ‘drop the bomb’ on middle class and working families.

“What else is Mitt Romney hiding? If 23 years of tax returns were available for vetting by the McCain campaign four years ago, the American people should be entitled to the same information. If rich campaign donors get to hear Mitt Romney’s real agenda, the men and women who go to work every day to keep America running deserve the same honesty. Like his ‘two faced’ outreach to the Hispanic community, Romney is not being straight on his plans for America.”
