Statement on Arson Attempt at Planned Parenthood’s Thousand Oaks Health Center

CALIFORNIA—(ENEWSPF)—October 1, 2015. Our commitment today, and always, is to the health and safety of our patients and staff. We are grateful for the quick and thorough response of law enforcement and that no one was in the building.   We are working to assess and repair the damage and will reopen our doors as quickly as possible.

Planned Parenthood of Santa Barbara, Ventura and San Luis Obispo Counties is a leading provider of high-quality, affordable reproductive healthcare. Our Thousand Oaks Health Center provides over 7,000 patients with a wide range of health care services each year, over 90% of which is lifesaving preventive care like cancer screenings, birth control, and sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment.

These acts of violence are unacceptable and they will not be successful.  These criminals will never break our resolve to provide the compassionate care that our patients need and deserve.
