United Steelworkers: Tell Congress to Get Back to Work!

Pittsburgh, PA–(ENEWSPF)–October 15, 2013.  Each day the shutdown continues, more and more families, including USW members, are being affected. Over 800,000 people are out of work with no timeline of when they will return and vital services that millions of Americans rely on are frozen.

Let’s make our Steelworker voices heard – tell your representatives to come to an agreement to fund the government and get this country back to work.

Call our new congressional hotline at 877-879-8951 OR 1-877-USW-8951 and enter your zip code to get directly connected with your representative.

When you make your call, be sure to tell your representative:

  1. Your name and where you’re from.
  2. To pass a clean continuing resolution and make sure the faith in the U.S. government is upheld by passing a debt limit increase.

Once you’ve made the call, share this graphic on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram letting people know you want congress to get back to work!

What’s a continuing resolution?

A continuing resolution is a piece of legislation that is voted on by congress to fund government agencies when a formal bill has not been signed into law before the end of the fiscal year.

Note: Because of the shutdown, some Congressional staff are not working. You may be put into a voicemail, even during working hours. If you aren’t able to get through, please try calling the Representative’s District office. Numbers can be found by going to your Representative’s website available through www.house.gov.
