Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— The Park Forest Aqua Center renovation plans, approved in April, hit a significant roadblock. The estimated cost of the construction work increased from the original $3.5 million to over $ 7 million. This increase was due to the need to comply with the current Illinois Department of Public Health aquatics code. The 70-year-old facility was grandfathered and not subject to new codes until major rehabilitation was done.
