The Benefits of Weeds at Local Sierra Club Meeting on September 12

MATTESON–(ENEWSPF)–September 6, 2016.  The Sauk-Calumet Group of the Illinois Sierra Club has its next meeting on Monday, September 12th at 7:15 pm.  The meeting is at the Frankfort Public Library, 21119 Pfeiffer Rd., in Frankfort.

The subject of the program will be the benefits of weeds.  Are weeds valueless plants growing wild?  Sauk Calumet Sierran and avid gardener Carrie Rock will take another look at the nutritional and medicinal uses of the wild plants growing right underneath our feet!

Monthly meetings start with announcements with the program following.  Programs are usually about nature or an environmental issue.  Meetings are free and open to the public.  For directions or more info about the Club and its activities, contact Patrick Coffey at [email protected].
