Statement in Response to Violence in Paris by American Academy of Pediatrics CEO Dr. Karen Remley

Elk Grove Village, IL–(ENEWSPF)–November 16, 2015.  In response to the tragic events that took place yesterday in Paris, France, American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Chief Executive Officer Karen Remley, MD, MBA, MPH, FAAP, issued the following statement:
“The mission of the American Academy of Pediatrics is the health safety, and well-being of children around the world, and we are stunned by the tragic violence that took place yesterday in France. Our condolences go out to the families who are suffering and our support extends to our colleagues in Europe.

“As pediatricians, we know that violence can have lasting effects on children even if they are only learning about it through the media. The AAP urges everyone to take care with the images that children see and hear about. The AAP has resources available for clinicians at AAP.org and for families at HealthyChildren.org.”
