Sentenced to 16 Years in Prison

Park Forest, IL–(ENEWSPF)– His arrest in March 2007 on charges of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child drew shock and outrage from those who knew him. Donald Anderson is now known as Illinois Department of Corrections inmate #R74671, and he’s been sentenced to 16 years in prison.

According to the Illinois Department of Corrections, Donald Anderson, 43, last address 22115 Central Park Ave., Park Forest, was taken into custody at the Stateville Correctional Center on October 17, 2008 following his conviction on one count of predatory criminal sexual assault, a Class X felony. Anderson was arrested March 19, 2007 and charged on March 21, 2007, when an investigation uncovered a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old girl, according to police. Bond was set at $500,000 at the time.

On March 17, 2007, the Park Forest Police Department was notified by a northwest suburban Police Department that a twelve year old female was missing from her home and thought to be in the company of a family friend. The Park Forest Police went to the Central Park address but there was no answer at the door. It was later learned that Anderson had driven the young girl home. The girl’s mother brought her daughter to a local hospital for an exam, where her daughter admitted to medical personnel that she had an ongoing sexual relationship with the older man.

A Victim Sensitive Interview (VSI) was conducted at LaRabida Children’s Advocacy Center in Park Forest. During the interview, the young girl stated the assault had occurred in Park Forest. Park Forest Police Detectives arrested Anderson after the interview.

According to police, Donald Anderson told them that he had sex with the child on at least three occasions in his Park Forest home.

Park Forest Police Department detectives executed a search warrant of Anderson’s home, seizing computers and additional items in an attempt to locate further evidence of the crime, including digital computer images.

According to the Illinois Department of Corrections, Anderson will be eligible for parole on October 20, 2020, and will be required to register as a sex offender. The earliest he can be discharged from parole is October 25, 2023.
