Yesterday, as Pope Francis was named Timeâs âPerson of the Yearâ, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) and the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) formally responded to the Vaticanâs submission to the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child on the handling of widespread sexual violence against children in the church. Todayâs document addressed recent cover-ups in the Church and the Holy Seeâs claims to the committee that it is only responsible for what happens within the walls of Vatican City.
