Park Forest, IL—(ENEWSPF)— The Park Forest Youth Commission invites teens and young adults to take the next step toward employment at its upcoming Job Readiness Fair. The event will commence on Saturday, March 21.
The free event will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Village Hall, 350 Victory Drive. It will help young people build the skills and confidence needed to enter the workforce successfully.
Organizers say the event will provide practical tools that can make a difference when applying for jobs. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how to build a strong résumé, practice interviewing skills through mock interviews, and receive guidance on developing a professional appearance often referred to as the “business look.”
Job Readiness: Strengthen Job Search Skills
Applying for your first job or looking to strengthen your job search skills? Members of the Youth Commission say the fair is especially important for teens and young adults. Learn how to present yourself professionally and communicate effectively during an interview. Discovering how to highlight your strengths on a résumé can give young job seekers a competitive edge.
In addition to building technical skills, the event will help participants gain confidence. Mock interviews will allow attendees to practice answering common interview questions and receive real-time feedback to help them improve.
The Youth Commission hopes the event will empower young people in the community by preparing them for job opportunities and helping them feel more comfortable navigating the hiring process.
Officials encourage teens and young adults interested in working—whether during the summer or beyond—to attend the event and take advantage of the resources offered.
Participation in the Job Readiness Fair is free, but registration is encouraged. Those interested can register by clicking here. Contact the Youth Commission for more information at [email protected].
