Park Forest, ILâ(ENEWSPF)âAugust 4, 2011. On Wednesday, September 7 at 7pm, Thorn Creek Audubon Society will sponsor a slide program on hummingbirds and hummingbird festivals in Illinois. Vernon Kleen, a retired avian ecologist, will explain the status of hummingbirds in Illinois, hummingbird banding, and what happens at hummingbird festivals.
