Matteson, IL-(ENEWSPF)- St. Lawrence O’Toole celebrated Family Reading Night. This night is sponsored by Jesse White, Secretary of State and State Librarian, and the Illinois Center for the Book.

It is an annual statewide event that encourages families to spend quality time reading together.

The night was filled with raffles, refreshments and wonderful stories read by costumed adults. Children had an opportunity to visit classrooms and listen to stories from many different countries including Russia, Mexico, China, Saudi Arabia, and Africa. Children also met and listened to the author, Gail Piernas-Davenport read her book Shante’s Keys and the New Year’s Peas. It was a magical night full of adventure. This is an annual public event.
