Afghanistan Strategy Sharpens Focus on Mission, Policy Chief Says

WASHINGTON–(ENEWSPF)–Dec. 7, 2009 – President Barack Obama’s Afghanistan strategy gives the United States and its allies a clearer set of objectives and a more focused approach to eventually transitioning security responsibilities to the Afghan government, the Defense Department’s policy chief said here today. Speaking to media and other guests during a discussion hosted by the American Enterprise Institute, Michele Flournoy talked about the development of the new strategy and what the White House hopes to accomplish.
