DOT Fines Lowestfare.com for Violations of Code-Share Disclosure Rules

Washington, DC–(ENEWSPF)–September 16, 2011.  The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) today fined the online ticket agent Lowestfare.com, LLC $50,000 for failing to adequately disclose to consumers when flights were being operated under a code-sharing arrangement.  Today’s action is part of the Department’s effort to ensure that all sellers of air transportation are complying with DOT’s code-share disclosure rules.
