Washington, DC–(ENEWSPF)–July 2, 2012. U.S. Senators Mark Kirk (R-IL), Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) have introduced a bill that would ensure that Holocaust survivors can better access needed services, such as health care and nutrition services, without having to live in a nursing or assisted living facility. S. 3358, the ‘‘Responding to Urgent Needs of Survivors of the Holocaust Act’’ or the ‘‘RUSH Act’’ will amend the Older Americans Act of 1965 to provide needed protections for survivors of the Holocaust who managed to make it to the United States after years of prolonged terror, abuse, and desperation.
