Statement by the NATO Secretary General on the Earthquake in Turkey

BELGIUM–(ENEWSPF)–23 October 2011.  The following statement is attributed to NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen:

I am saddened by the news of the powerful earthquake that struck south-eastern Turkey earlier today, which is reported to have caused the loss of many lives and considerable damage.

On behalf of NATO, I would like to convey my sympathy and solidarity to all those who were affected, to the Turkish people and the Turkish government.
