Thousands Displaced as Torrential Rains and Floods Hit Sri Lanka – UN

NEW YORK–(ENEWSPF)–11 January 2011 – Floods caused by heavy rainfall in Sri Lanka have affected nearly a million people, including more than 127,000 displaced from their homes, the United Nations humanitarian office reported today, quoting figures provided by the Government.
