The U.S. State Department has updated its Travel Advisory to certain areas in Mexico due to the increase in violent crimes such as homicide, kidnapping, carjacking, and robbery. The incidence of these crimes is widespread so travelers to Mexico are advised to exercise increased caution in Mexico especially in areas that have increased risk.
