Fort Smith, Ark.–(ENEWSPF)–November 4, 2011. The United Steelworkers union (USW) yesterday said it will make every effort to persuade Whirlpool Corp. to reverse a decision to close its Fort Smith, Ark., refrigerator plant in 2012.The closure decision, announced on Oct. 28, is a disappointment to the members of USW Local 370, who have worked diligently over the years to keep the plant competitive and profitable.
