Senators Kirk and Manchin Introduce Legislation to Delay Individual Mandate Penalty for One Year

Legislation will suspend penalty fees if individuals do not register for healthcare coverage

WASHINGTON–(ENEWSPF)–November 7, 2013.  U.S. Senators Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) and Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) today introduced legislation to delay the implementation of the individual mandate under the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act” from January 1, 2014 to January 1, 2015. The bill would eliminate the $95 penalty that will go into effect in 2014 under current law.
