Marian Catholic: Brighter Because of Bernie

Bernie Jablonski

Chicago Heights, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Bernie Jablonski was a teacher and theatrical director at Marian Catholic High School for 33 years.  He inspired the souls of his students. He was unique, proud of his uniqueness, and appreciated each student’s individuality.  He was a gentle man with a great sense of humor and tireless commitment to theatre.  He taught us that no matter what challenges you face in life, the decision about how to handle them comes from the soul within.  Bernie chose to handle his challenges with dignity and class.

Bernie Jablonski was a “keeper of the stars” who lit the way for countless young men and women as they passed through the world of adolescence to young adulthood, supported by a love of the arts.  He invested in the creativity of the theatre and the joy of youth.  It is appropriate that we honor his life by honoring things most important to him, theatre, youth, and the stage of Marian Catholic High School.

Our future lighting and dimmer rack initiative in the theatre that Bernie loved so much will serve as a living memorial to our teacher, mentor, friend, and colleague who was a never-ending light in the lives of so many. May you rest gently in God’s peace, Bernie. You shall continue to light our way at Marian Catholic High School.
