University Park, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Rick Kogan’s wit. Otis Clay’s rhythm, WGN’s Judy and Kathy’s characteristic frankness. Comedy from Chicago’s own Second City Comedy Troupe. Now that’s a recipe for a good night out. Chicago Live!, the Chicago Tribune’s radio and stage show, makes its way back south, as broadcast icon Rick Kogan and guests show us what it’s like to bring a newspaper to life on stage at the Center for Performing Arts! The date is November 14th. Time 7 p.m. The stage is set for a night filled with news, newsmakers, jokesters and artists. And the best part is tickets are just $20.

This event marks the second annual airing of Chicago Live! at Governors State University. Last year’s musical guest Psalm One was among the guest performers to entertain an enthusiastic crowd of community members, students, and educators at GSU.

This year’s program promises to be just as exciting as Rick Kogan welcomes guests with his trademark voice, insightful commentary and probing questions.

Enjoy musical entertainment by The Otis Clay Revue. Otis Clay is one of the premier deep soul and gospel singers working today. His raw, fiery vocals drive an energetic and danceable blend of soul, rhythm and blues in the tradition of such deep soul singers as Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett and Solomon Burke.  He is known for a series of hit singles including "Trying To Live My Life Without You" and his "When The Gates Swing Open" and The Gospel Truth remain staples on gospel radio today. Walk A Mile In My Shoes, a new cd featuring Otis’ version of this classic song has been released on his own Echo Records label.

Kathy O’Malley and Judy Markey of WGN radio bring their accessible, outspoken, hilarious, and compassionate voices to the stage. The 20-year bond that Kathy and Judy have formed with their listeners is unlike any in Chicago radio. Their show is completely listener-driven. Be it sex, children, romance, family quandaries, no topic is off limits and every show is more or less a party. Judy and Kathy can be heard on WGN Radio on Saturdays 10 a.m. – noon.

And of course, who better to poke fun at the news than Chicago’s own Second City Comedy Troupe, who will be adding their comedic stylings in between interviews and entertainment.

Guests already slated to be interviewed by Rick Kogan include Team StarKid and world-renowned glass artist Charles Lotton, whose work has been called a cross between Tiffany and Chihuly. Lotton, a southland native, recently donated a one-of-a kind commemorative piece to Governors State University, which will be illuminated prior to the Chicago Live! performance, with patrons and VIP guests in attendance. Charles Lotton’s work is exhibited at the Smithsonian and Art Institute of Chicago museums, and sold internationally at art galleries and boutique shops from coast to coast.
