CHICAGO-(ENEWSPF)- A former Chicago options trader was sentenced to 44 months in prison for engaging in an investment fraud scheme in which he swindled more than $600,000 from approximately 10 victims who invested with him. The defendant, Kent R.E. Whitney, had pleaded guilty to wire fraud in September, and was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Virginia Kendall in Federal Court.
