Fraud Sentencing Emphasizes Prevention Efforts

CHICAGO–(ENEWSPF)–March 22, 2012.  A federal appeals court has upheld the 96-month prison sentence imposed upon a Chicago woman who defrauded the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) of more than $700,000.
 
Jay Rowell, the Director of IDES, said the ruling sends a strong message that the state takes seriously fraud prosecutions and there are significant consequences for individuals who cheat the program.
