Herres and a witnesses accused Lewis of shorting them a small amount of marijuana that Lewis had bought for the group.

Lewis allegedly became “enraged” at the allegation, pulled out a 5-inch blade from his waistband, lunged at Herres and stabbed him once, the release said.

Lewis was taken in further questioning and the murder charge was approved.

Herres appeared to have been stabbed once but an autopsy was scheduled for later Monday, Keller said.
