Man Shot on Allegheny Street


Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- Police were dispatched 3 p.m. to the 200 block of Allegheny Street after on March 9 in reference to a call of reckless discharge of a firearm. A witness reported that while sitting in her living room she heard an argument started in the front yard of her house. She looked outside and saw two men she knew talking with a man she did not know. Suddenly, the unknown male pulled a gun from his waistband and shot one of the other men in the stomach. The man who was shot fell to the ground, the other ran to the back of the residence, and the suspect fled west on Allegheny Street, according to the witness.

When police arrived, they observed an apparent gunshot wound to the abdomen of the victim. Paramedics responded to assist the victim who, police say, had a possible exit wound from his left thigh. The victim was transported to St. James Hospital in Chicago Heights. A detective responded to the hospital to speak with the victim.

Police have a suspect in custody.
