Park Forest Police Announce Arrest and Charges in US Bank Robbery

Park Forest, IL-(ENEWSPF)- The Park Forest Police issued a press release Thursday regarding the arrest of the suspect in the February 28, 2012, bank robbery at US Bank in Park Forest.

The release says that Park Forest police, working in cooperation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, arrested Brandon Carr, age 41, whose last known address was in the 4100 block of Poplar Avenue in Richton Park, IL.

On Thursday, March 15, Mr. Carr was indicted by a federal grand jury on a federal charge of bank robbery, according to the release. Since the time of his arrest, he has been held by the Illinois Department of Corrections on unrelated charges, according to the release.

The quick conclusion to this serious crime was a direct result of information gained from the public, including residents of Park Forest and surrounding towns. Within hours of releasing the photos provided by US Bank security, several individuals called both Park Forest Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to report that they knew the identity of the offender. The fact that this crime was solved so rapidly demonstrates how important this type of public involvement is to effective law enforcement. The Park Forest Police Department would like to publicly thank those individuals who provided information, and encourage the continued community/police relationship that has been a hallmark of the Village of Park Forest for decades.
